Confirmed before go-live
It varies by category and by metro, so it is set for your store in writing. You know the number before the first order lands.
Shop local marketplace
Nearby shoppers compare prices and live stock across local stores, and their orders go straight to your queue, pickup first.
Storefronts open metro by metro, where enough stores have joined to give shoppers a real comparison. Ask, and you'll know whether yours is live before you sign.
In short
To sell locally online without a big delivery app's cut, Esplanda runs consumer storefronts on separate domains, one each for liquor, restaurants and grocery, where shoppers compare prices and stock across nearby stores and the order routes to the store that fulfills it.
A storefront launches only in a metro where enough stores have joined for a real comparison, so coverage grows metro by metro and is never national. Pickup is the default, and the order lands in the same queue as your other online orders.
The shopper
They know the bottle, the dish or the brand. On the storefront they check four stores within a few miles for price, stock and how soon they can have it.
The shopper sees the stores near them, the price each charges and what each has on hand right now.
Not a delivery app's commission line, and not a results page where whoever paid most sits on top.
When they choose, the order goes to that store's queue. Your own branded shop runs on the same catalog: see POS with online ordering.
Where it runs
A storefront launches only where enough stores have joined that a shopper has a real comparison to make. That keeps every live storefront worth a shopper's time.
A comparison storefront with three stores in it is a directory with a checkout button. Launching full protects the shopper, the early merchants and the domain.
If your metro is live, you see what the storefront already looks like there. If it isn't, you hear that too, and what would have to change.
The register, purchasing and pricing earn their place on their own: see liquor store software.
Pickup first
A pickup order earns 3.2× what a delivery order earns on the same basket: no courier cost, no courier-driven service fee, and the shopper walks through your door, where baskets grow.
| The basket | Esplanda pickup | Esplanda delivery | Large delivery app |
|---|---|---|---|
| Earnings to you | 3.2× the delivery order | Baseline | Lowest of the three |
| Commission | Confirmed in writing before launch | Confirmed in writing before launch | A percentage of every order |
| Courier cost | None | Paid per order | Built into the cut |
| Shopper enters your store | Yes | No | No |
| Customer record | Yours | Yours | The app's |
| Where the order lands | Your order queue and staff app | Your order queue and staff app | A separate tablet on your counter |
If the big apps already work for you, keep them. Marketplace Connectivity, a separate paid line, puts them on the same catalog: see third party delivery integration.
An order, start to finish
Six steps, and none of them adds a device to your counter.
Prices and live stock from the stores near them, on one screen.
Pickup is shown first, as the better option it is.
Yours, when you have it and want it.
On the counter machine and in the staff app, with a pick list and a time.
The one your POS system with inventory management and purchasing read, so nothing drifts.
So the next order doesn't have to come through the storefront at all.
What it costs
Commission sits well below what the large delivery apps take, and the exact rate is confirmed in writing before your store goes live.

Subscription
Esplanda POS is free, and the storefront reads the catalog you already keep. Every other price is on Esplanda pricing.
The catch
The storefront exists only where enough merchants besides you have joined. Everything else on this page is in Esplanda's hands; that part depends on your neighbors.
Marketplace presence adds to your own local search footprint. People searching for you by name still come from local SEO software, your business profile and your reviews.
Questions
It is a set of consumer storefronts Esplanda runs on separate domains, one each for liquor, restaurants and grocery, where a shopper compares prices across the stores near them. When the shopper buys, the order routes to the store that fulfills it. For an owner it is a way to reach someone who is already comparing prices without paying a large delivery app's cut.
Ask, and Esplanda tells you plainly before you sign anything. A storefront launches only in a metro where enough stores have joined that a shopper has a genuine comparison to make, so coverage grows metro by metro and is never national.
Well below what the large delivery apps charge. The exact rate depends on your category and your metro, and it is confirmed in writing before your store goes live. You know the number before the first order lands, not after.
Because a pickup order earns 3.2 times what a delivery order earns. A pickup order carries no courier cost, and the shopper walks into your store, where baskets grow and staff can recommend. Delivery is still on the storefront, but pickup is what the shopper sees first.
They serve different shoppers. Your own store site serves the shopper who already knows your name; the marketplace serves the shopper comparing four stores who has not chosen yet. Esplanda runs both from one catalog, so a bottle sold on either one comes off the same stock record.
The storefront reads your live catalog, so an item at zero on hand shows as unavailable. If a count is wrong and the shortage is found at picking, staff substitute or refund the line from the same order screen, and the shopper is notified before pickup.
No, but the catalog has to be accurate for price comparison to work. Esplanda POS is free and keeps the catalog correct automatically. If you keep a Square, Clover, Lightspeed or KORONA register, a POS integration feeds the same catalog.
Indirectly. The storefront pages carry your store name, address and hours, which adds consistent citations. Ranking for your own name still comes from your own site, your business profile and your reviews, and the marketplace adds to that work.
